WATER RABBIT MINDFUL ADVENTURES: BOOK LAUNCH AT WAHROONGA PARK
A perfect spring day for my book launch in Sydney on Saturday, 9 September 2023, with the sun and flowers coming out for Mei-Mei, the Water rabbit’s debut.
My deep appreciation to Mr Tim James, MP, Member for Willoughby for launching the book, and to the warm support from Mr Alister Henkens, SC. Member for Wahroonga, and Mr Matt Cross, Member for Davidson. Tim, who is born in the year of the rabbit, brought his little water tiger (his son, Xavier) as a nod to my Water Tiger book launched in 2022.
I am grateful to Tim for his lovely speech and endorsement —”Belinda has always had people at the heart of everything she does. And this is essentially a great gift to humanity, to community, to culture that Belinda is giving us through her series of books.”
Many thanks to Jo Coffrey of Novella and my family, especially to Lynne, Matthew and Nicholas who read and acted out the book beautifully. And a wonderful thank you to my amazing team who helped me to plan, managed and photographed the launch, and to everyone who supported the event and make the day really special for me and water rabbit.
It was a really fun and successful book launch. I was pleased to sign books for many wonderful readers of all ages. I Look forward to launching Dragon & Friends’ Mindful Adventures, the 3rd book in series of Lunar New Year Animal Books for kids in February 2024.

I am delighted to share a beautiful note from Phillip who attended the Water Rabbit book launch Saturday, 9 Sept. The lovely book reading, and the beautiful carrot paper planes crafted by Lynne, Nicholas and Matthew made an impact on Phillip😊. Thank you Philllip.

“To Lynne, Matthew Jun & Nicholas Kai! I was honoured to attend the reading of your Nai-Nai’s latest book launch, “Water Rabbit’s Mindful Adventures “ @ Wahroonga Park on Saturday, 9 September! Your combined reading was very expressive, humorous & heartwarming! I had to purchase my own copy!!
Boys, the flight of your handmade “carrot planes” at the end of your readings, was an amazing way to emphasise the meaning of the story, told! Congratulations on the fine aerodynamics ( & art!) of the personal touch, the length of their flights! It was a beautiful end to a wonderful, family reading! My only regret was not meeting you, in person, to thank you for such an eventful launch! ( & acquiring one of your “carrot planes”!! I wish you both a full & happy life!! “
